My GFA Story

Serving at GFA is a new chapter of my life, working at doing everything as unto the Lord for His glory since I was saved in 1978. I have been a widow for over 20 years, and I was working in accounting at a large construction company In California. My daughter, Sarah, has been on staff here for 15 years and I have visited the GFA office several times, happy to be a donor and supporter. The need for help in the accounting department at GFA had been mentioned a few times over the last two years, and more recently I was asked to seriously consider serving at GFA. Though I was happy and content at my current job, I prayed for God’s mind on the matter. Subsequently, there were changes in my life that gave me a sharp reminder to be prayerful and wise with the investment of my time, especially now as I am older.This helped to unfold God’s direction for me to GFA. When I was accepted as a Staff member, I retired from my job at the construction company and made the move to Texas.

What I do

I currently serve in the Accounting Department. Our accounting team attends to the daily tasks of overseeing the daily banking, keeping the bills paid, processing payroll, entering in the data into the accounting system, and reconciling the data and reports every month. There is lots to keep track of to keep the records accurate and done with expected standard of excellence and integrity. Here at GFA I am using my skills to serve His people who are working hard to reach the unsaved. It fills me with joy to know my daily tasks are a part of the process that allows our brothers and sisters on the field reach so many with the love of Jesus Christ.
