Help Provide Relief

Two major earthquakes have rocked Turkey and Syria and have caused more than 44,000 deaths so far.1 Tens of thousands of buildings have turned to rubble and millions have been displaced from their homes.2 These families and individuals are in need of shelter, clothing, food and medical support. GFA World is working with our partners to bring relief to earthquake survivors. People on the ground in Turkey are already meeting urgent needs and distributing emergency aid. Plans are also underway for our partner’s doctors and medical staff from Asia to go help with the relief operation in Turkey.

As we have engaged in disaster relief over the years, we have learned that danger lasts long after the tremors have stopped and see this need as an ongoing work to bring hope for the suffering in Turkey. In these winter conditions, the need for shelter and food is even more dire. Please give today to extend help and hope in the name of Christ to those who are suffering.

Current Prayer Requests:

+ Pray for the Lord to sustain all those affected by the earthquake. We can pray that just as the Lord multiplied the widow Zarephath’s oil, He would also miraculously extend the needed life-saving resources such as food, water and relief aid.

+ Please pray for the workers on the ground who are actively engaged in relief work both day and night. We can pray that the Lord will protect them and give them wisdom. Pray also for their stamina, emotional fortitude, integrity, discernment, and the resources needed to meet the critical and ongoing needs.

+ Pray for the millions who have been affected by this disaster. There are an unbelievable number of suffering families who are living in the midst of extreme trauma and loss right now. We can remember the verse that encourages us to “…weep with those who weep.” Romans 12:15 and pray for spiritual and emotional healing in these lands.

+ We can also pray that the global Body of Christ mobilizes in this desperate hour to bring long-term recovery.
